General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all tours offered by Anita Lester (hereinafter referred to as the "Provider"). Customers booking a tour are referred to as “Clients,” and the guide conducting the booked tour is referred to as the “Guide.” All tours are provided based on these GTC.

Bookings

Booking a tour becomes binding when the Client receives a booking confirmation by email from the Provider, following prior agreement (via phone or email). This booking is considered a binding declaration of intent from the Client. Any changes to a confirmed booking must be made in writing or by email. Each tour has a maximum number of participants per guide, which will be specified in the booking confirmation. If the desired group size exceeds the specified maximum, this must be agreed upon in advance. An increase in the number of participants may require additional charges, and a second guide may be necessary, which may result in splitting the group.

Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of €40 is required to confirm the booking. This deposit must be paid at least 24 hours in advance of the tour date. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of the tour. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable, even in the event of cancellation, except under the conditions described below.

Implementation

The tour will be conducted by a qualified Guide selected by the Provider based on the required qualifications for the tour. Clients do not have a right to request a specific guide, although the Provider may replace a specific guide with another suitable guide if necessary. The Provider reserves the right to adjust the tour based on changing circumstances such as group size or opening hours of attractions. If entrance fees are incurred (e.g., for locations like the Main Tower or Kaisersaal), the Client is responsible for paying these fees separately in cash unless otherwise agreed and stated in the booking confirmation. Interior tours will be conducted whenever possible; however, if certain rooms or areas are closed to the public, there is no entitlement to an interior tour. The Guide will adapt the tour based on available circumstances, such as wait times or unforeseen closures.

Prices and Payments

The quoted price includes personalized consultation, the booking process, and the agreed-upon tour. Any additional services requested by the Client, such as tastings, additional purchases, or entrance fees, will be separately agreed upon and billed accordingly. Any other specific payment terms are outlined in the booking confirmation.

Cancellation by the Provider

The Provider reserves the right to cancel the tour in cases of sudden illness of the Guide, severe weather, or other unforeseeable situations. In such cases, the Client may request a refund of any fees already paid or arrange an alternative date. The Provider will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement Guide in the event of illness. Additional compensation claims are excluded. The Guide is also entitled to cancel the tour if one or more participants are under the influence of alcohol or if safety conditions cannot be guaranteed. In such cases, the full tour fee remains due.

Cancellation by the Client

Clients can cancel the booking according to the terms and conditions specified in their offer. Exceptions apply only in the case of official weather warnings for Frankfurt or an official ban on tours. As long as tours are permitted in Frankfurt, the agreement remains valid. A confirmed booking can only be canceled in writing, and cancellation fees will apply. The full fee is due even if the Client or the group does not show up for the scheduled tour.

Rescheduling

Any change to the booked tour date or time requires prior consultation with the Provider and approval. Short-term rescheduling will generally be treated as a cancellation, with a new booking made. The cancellation terms stated in the booking confirmation will apply. While we will do our best to accommodate rescheduling requests, however we cannot guarantee availability. 

Delays

If the group is delayed, the tour will be shortened by the length of the delay. No extension or price reduction will be granted due to delays. Extensions are only possible if the Guide can accommodate the additional time and after consultation with the Provider. If an extension is agreed upon, the Client will be billed for the total waiting time and extended tour duration. If the Guide is delayed, the tour duration will be extended free of charge by the delayed time in consultation with the group.

No-Show Policy

The Client must provide a local contact person and a mobile phone number when booking. If the group fails to arrive at the agreed meeting point and cannot be reached by phone, the Guide will wait for 30 minutes. After that, the booked service is considered canceled, and the Guide will leave. In this case, the full fee remains due.

Liability

Participation in tours is at the Client’s own risk. The Provider’s liability is limited to fulfilling the agreed-upon services and is financially capped at the amount of the agreed Guide fee.

Duty of Supervision

For tours involving children, teenagers, or individuals requiring supervision, the Guide does not assume responsibility for supervision. The responsibility remains with the Client at all times.

Ineffectiveness

The invalidity of individual provisions of the contract or these terms and conditions does not affect the validity of the entire contract.

Choice of Law and Jurisdiction

German law applies exclusively, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If the Client is a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, or if the Client does not have a general place of jurisdiction in Germany, the exclusive jurisdiction for all disputes arising from the business relationship shall be Frankfurt am Main.
